Makers Muse News
Hey all! After a lengthy hiatus we have returned to our Makers Muse News Blog (about time too!)
Since the start of January, Makers Muse has seen an incredible increase in popularity and viewership. It's really exciting to see so much interest in 3D Printing! We have not only encountered an increasing number of people engaging with our YouTube videos, but also with it an increase in opportunities! We recently just passed 80,000 subscribers. This is a huge milestone for Makers Muse, and I cannot express enough my gratitude towards my fans and those who have made this possible.
So, what have we been up to then?
Towards the end of last year, the exhibition space in the Michael Crouch Innovation Centre was our home, however it was only ever to be a temporary gig. Since the end of last year, we have managed to secure a new location and a wicked fast internet connection (VERY rare in Australia!). This means we have been able to create and release content more quickly and efficiently, since an upload time has dropped from HOURS to MINUTES. I can tell you, this has been a MAJOR stress reliever... Not to mention being surrounded by mountains, beaches and pubs!
So, "Whats new" since January?
Bay Area Maker Faire - May
As most of you might know by now, I have confirmed my flights to this years' Bay Area Maker Faire, marking my first ever trip to the US!
This has been made possible through your support and the generous support of my Sponsors for the trip (plus a fair bit of my own coin). Our first port of call will be to land in Los Angeles and attend the Matter Hackers pre-Maker Faire meetup. I am stoked to finally meet the Matter Hackers team as well as awesome fellow youtubers such as Joel Telling of 3D Printing Nerd fame. From there we'll road trip to the Maker Faire and then it's straight back home to Sydney. It will truly be a crazy, redbull-fueled trip of a lifetime. Hope to see you there!
My Patreon $1,500 Milestone: Beginners Content
Through the incredible support of my Patreons, Makers Muse can now finally tackle content that you have been asking for for a LONG time - Beginner 3D Modelling tutorials! I have settled on Fusion 360 as my software of choice for the new series called CAD for Newbies. Never 3D Modelled before? Jump into our first episode and see how it works! The video tutorials assume no prior knowledge and are already proving to be very popular.
Patreon supporters get to help guide the series as well as access behind the scenes content and other perks, so why not join in? Click Here!
E-Books and Projects Galore!
Lets be honest, we at Makers Muse have been slack in this department. With E-books waiting in the wings and projects benched on the side, we have been needing to do more than sit and staring wistfully in their direction.
We are now glad to say we have begun tackling this issue! Patreons on the right tier should be expecting their sneak peek into our latest E-book shortly, and in the mean time we are sprucing up a special small project to feature in the incoming VIVID Robowars Event in Australia, this June.
That's all for now! Stay tuned for more updates here on the blog, and be sure to sign up for our monthly Maker's News newsletter.
