Hey all!
I previously asked if a surfaces tutorial in Fusion would be useful and people said yes... so here it is!
This tutorial outlines the 3 main ways you can use surface modelling in your CAD workflow to create complex solid bodies which are perfectly suited for 3D printing. They're a bit more advanced (and more things can go wrong) than solid modelling - but definitely worth investigating if you haven't yet!
Surface modelling is also available in most CAD packages including Onshape, Solidworks, FreeCAD and more.
If you have any questions (or would like something demonstrated or clarified) please let me know. I'll be happy to assist.
Thank you for supporting Maker's Muse!

7:59 Cutting solid bodies with surfaces
13:31 Offset and thicken surfaces
16:25 Trim and stitch surfaces to form solid bodies (with demo of form workspace)
Angus - great tutorial as always. Keegan and I could use clarification on how to make the surface sweep symmetrical along the entire candy cane. If that cannot be easily explained, would it be possible to provide the f3d (fusion) file?
Hi guys! As long as the same path is selected for both the solid and surface sweep, it should be centered and shouldn't deviate. I've attached the fusion file to help! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Cheers, Angus
