I previously asked if a surfaces tutorial in Fusion would be useful and people said yes... so here it is!
This tutorial outlines the 3 main ways you can use surface modelling in your CAD workflow to create complex solid bodies which are perfectly suited for 3D printing. They're a bit more advanced (and more things can go wrong) than solid modelling - but definitely worth investigating if you haven't yet!
Surface modelling is also available in most CAD packages including Onshape, Solidworks, FreeCAD and more.
